Louie

After moving to Colorado in 2013 to find purpose, I faced personal struggles. Life took many turns, including losing my beloved dogs Bernie and Fiona to illness, battling addiction, and facing financial and personal setbacks. I adopted Louie, a lively pit bull puppy, during this difficult period. Due to the setbacks, I felt forced to relinquish my beloved dog Louie, now 6 years old. They were going to euthanize Louie if I couldn’t arrange for his “escape.”  So my recovery coach recommended Serenity Paws as a safe possibility for boarding.  From there my friend Colin contacted his brother-in-law, who lived in Nederland, who was able to rescue Louie and bring him to Serenity Paws who later entered him into their Project Recovery boarding program.   I’m so incredibly thankful for Katie,  Geoffrey, and, everyone involved with Project Recovery.  I’m just one of many pet owners who experience life-altering struggles, who risk losing their non human family members while trying to improve their circumstances. This program is vital for many pet people in recovery.  Thank you, Katie, and everyone involved with Project Recovery! Thanks to the support of friends and programs like Serenity Paws' Project Recovery, Louie was rescued for me and waited for my return, and we were given a second chance. I am deeply grateful for the compassion and dedication of everyone involved, which has been vital in my recovery and ongoing journey
